GO TO IDEAL SECTOR

An additional essential component of IDEAN‘s policies are ‚urban rights‘ (we refer to the ‚Right to the City‘ approach originally developed by Henri Lefebvre in the late 1960s.). This mode aims to guarantee basic services and rights for all. Furthermore it seeks to delineate the balance of private property and common resources. This includes the definition of duties and compensations by private property (Cf. to the Brazilian City Statutes). Still, the general vision and mission of IDEAN‘s urban rights is to increase access to the general values of urbanity and urban life for a maximum number of people. For that reason IDEAN thrives on the emancipating and civilizing capacities of cities. These are augmented by enhancing the principles of participation and co-ownership.
