This is an effort to delineate an approach that follows principles of rationality and order but at the same time remains process-based, adaptable to local conditions, and flexible towards unpredictable change. The main strategic components are: integrated green and infrastructure networks at multiple scales, a unique framework of development regulations (urban DNA), and a distributed system of social and economic incubator facilities. In the large context the urbanisation process is guided by a set of rules and by (infra)structure. The existing master plan is refined by a system of green corridors. These provide breathing and circulation space and assure eco-system loops. A new railroad ring connects to the existing Hyderabad circle. New stations mark out the centres of the new urban agglomerations. A seamlessly integrated bus transport provides local access. Each stop can be accessed on foot at a radius of 500 metres. The scheme also explores the local conditions.
