Polis Symbiosis, the symbiotic city, aims for a holistic approach that integrates economic, ecological, social, cultural, technological, political, and spatial needs. The project takes a reconciliatory approach, combining the local and the global, the modern and the traditional. The concept of shared amenities and ecological principles lies at the core of the concept. A networked system of neighbourhood parks and green boulevards provides for a seamless integration of the settlement with the surrounding landscape. The centre of the community is formed by a large green axial boulevard and square. The genuine identity of the project, a real and symbolic green core, lies here. The urban layout was slightly rotated to shield off warm air streams and admit cold breezes. At the same time large plantings of trees greatly augments the comfort of the place and reduces energy needs.
